The Board of Health reports many complaints about littering in alleys and commons across Lebanon. Citizens are urged to file written, signed notices with details of the nuisance location and property owner, at the secretary of health, police station, or health officer.
The Lutheran Ministerium of Pennsylvania New Jersey New York and Delaware met in Allentown for a Friday session lasting seven hours. Rev Dr Schantz led as president, urging dignity as interruptions occurred during Rev Dr B P Schnary's address. George Clay, known as Washington, accused of killing Jacob Schmitt at Colebrook furnaces on May 4, asks for a continuance to September term. Counsel say time to prepare defense is insufficient and plan a insanity plea among other defenses. District Attorney McCurdy opposes the delay, with indictment expected from grand jury next week and trial to be set for September if granted.
The third annual commencement of the West Cornwall district high school was held Friday evening at St Pauls Reformed Church in Bismarck. Supt John W Snake led the program with speeches and music by the Orpheus quartet and students including Florence F Miller and Isabel O Kaufman. The West Cornwall school board attended and praised the graduates for their preparation and performance.
