Refreshments were served and well wishes noted for future anniversaries.

Miss Mary Lehman and sister Miss Aialy Lehman mourn the death of Catherine Lehman of 11 South Pemth Street after a long illness. Survived by brothers George Lehman and Ken Lehman and a son Charles Lehman. member of Zion Ladroom Church. Funeral plans not fully clear.
The Lebanonians and Haymakers traveled by a special Reading train for a long parade beyond the Mummers. Mrs Houck wife of Postmaster A R Houck recovered a valuable belt from a relative thanks to a News advertisement. Mr and Mrs Jacob A B Worts, known resident on South Wighth street, found the belt and after reading the ad in the News surprised Mrs Houck with the recovered item. The event highlights local paper help in locating lost belongings.
Ray Moore of 400 Noril Tenth District won a handsome pipe this morning at Harry Hartman’s North Ninth Street display shop. Harry Carmanny presented the gift and the ceremony proceeded with brief remarks.

Charles Hy Smith, superintendent of Lebanon Valley Street Railway, hosted a New Year dinner for employes at Ninth and Chestnut streets. The event ran from 11 to 12 o’clock and honored the regular service schedule. Oberholtzer prepared 140 portions of turkey and assorted sides for attendees.
Mrs John Heard of Rexmayyr died Tuesday afternoon from stroke related illness at age 40. Survived by husband John Heard and children William Mary Usorge Jon Guy four sisters and several brothers. funeral arrangements pending with ties to Pinegrove Reading and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cornwall.
Funeral services for Esther McConnell daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McConnell were conducted by Rev H J Miller of Salem A B Church this afternoon. Services were held outside the home on 1928 Church Street due to diphtheria. Burial followed at Ebenezer Cemetery with W H Steiner as undertaker.
Harrisburg hosted a musical evening last Tuesday with members of the Perseverance squad including Meuse Cyrus Dietrich Howard Rhive Thomma Yingat William Loeb and Alfred Jieldel. They performed with the Harrisburg Wheel end band from 1 to 2 o clock, entertaining local attendees.
