A Lebanon boy was sentenced to two years by a General Court-martial after being charged with absence without leave and refusing to bathe while under arrest. The original term was 2 1/2 years before Navy Secretary Wilbur reduced it on Major General Lojeung's recommendation. The case notes health considerations and that the prisoner refused to wash when ordered.
Grant Forks North Province police reported raids on Troherna Buthwell and Holland where 41 telephone lines were cut and stores looted. Estimated loss around 7000 dollars. Authorities pursued suspects said to head toward the border as pathers descended.

In Pittsburgh at about 9 AM a man named Josaph Wang, 40, discussed reconciliation with his wife at their home before shooting Ma wife and then killing himself with a head shot. Ma wife Julia Zans, 39, was taken to a hospital and may die. the couple reportedly had several children.
Miss Ruth G Harper of 640 Weldman Street Lebanon will leave Sunday for Parkesburg to teach English and coach athletics. This marks her second year in that role in Parkesburg. She is a graduate of Lebanon High School and Lebanon Valley College class of 1904.
