In Lafayette Indiana last night wind and lightning caused damage and fires. At James Nelson’s home lightning struck the house and shot into the parlor along the chandelier. Freight wreck blocks road near Holmes station
A freight wreck on No. 61 north of Holmes station derailed two cars at 7:25 a m delaying southbound traffic at Lebanon for about four hours. Help from Indianapolis arrived and a steam derrick cleared the track by eleven o'clock with only minor damage to one car.

Mrs. Matilda Fall aged 83 years 10 months and 16 days died of pneumonia at 519 West Chicago street. She had been ill since Sunday and funeral services will be held Saturday with Rev. F. L.
