Frankfort Population From City Census

Frankfort lists a population of 10 589 from an official city census. Mail carriers conducted a house to house canvas to identify residents not receiving mail. Four hundred eighty one persons were found to lack mail delivery and map rearrangements will require another carrier.

Barton Rearrested For Slip At Interurban Power House

A tip identified Wilbur Barton as employed at the interurban power house and led Sheriff McRoberts Deputy Roberts and Prosecutor Dodson to seize him late yesterday. Barton had earlier served ten days for public indecency and escaped from Deputy Roberts. Auto theft alerts circulated statewide for a Studebaker stolen in Indianapolis Tuesday morning.

Statesman Backed by Montgomery Delegation for Kokomo Nomination

Delegates from Crawfordsville and Montgomery county travel to Kokomo for the Republican congressional convention to nominate James F. Statesman. New Police Signal Boxes Installed in Lebanon

The Lebanon police have installed an optical and telephone alert box at the northwest corner of Lebanon and Main streets to summon the night officer. A red glass box and a red top light signal when a call is placed, remaining on until answered. Police will assess Fourth of July celebrations for sanity with no mayoral-imposed restrictions anticipated.

Spectacular Initiation Opens Ben Hur Session at Moose Hall

Crawfordsville reports the Supreme Tribe of Ben Hur opening session with welcome from the mayor and a greeting from Peter Luther of Brazil. Tampico Sunk After Naval Clash in Mexico Crisis

A battle between rebel Tampico and federal Merrero near Tampico left the Tampico sunk with two 4 inch guns and a torpedo tube. The Tampico’s captain and chief engineer shot themselves as defeat loomed. US ships New Orleans Perry and Pierble witnessed and aided the Tampico crew.

Elpaso Texas reports Villa's friends deny a rift with Carranza and say he has no intention of breaking with the rebel faction. They cite subordinates seizing the office and censorship of messages as possible causes of misinterpretation. Forty Carranza loyalists were sent to Torreon. telegraph operators to be examined by Villa. Villa shown as likely to control the north when the situation clears.
