Midnight prowlers seen by residents in Lebanon

Residents report nightly prowlers in the North Jamison neighborhood over the past two nights. Police investigations found no conclusive intruders despite reports of attempted entries on Washington Street and nearby homes along Chicago and Main streets.

Married Saturday Night at Squire Harlan Home

Reagan of two miles south of Thorntown married Lulla A Ferguson of Thorntown at Squire Harlan's residence on North Lebanon Street. The couple, who were living with Reagan's parents, obtained a license with County Clerk James Gardner around 8:30 PM after visiting the license office.

Indiana University Alumni Seek Water Committee Action

Indiana University alumni passed a resolution asking Gov. Ralston to appoint a four member committee to monitor Bloomington water supplies. The group will report on Sept 1 Oct 1 and Jan 1, amid competing expert assessments of reservoir capacity and famine risk.

Bryan Evades Statement on Water for University

United Press reports said the crystal lakes would supply ample pure water, but University men called it impossible. Bloomington Mayor Harris stated there was plenty of water, while President Bryan in his report dodged the issue but asserted the state can demand ample water for its university.

Board of Review Corrects Tax Lists in Thorntown Area

In a Saturday session the Board of Review corrected several lists. Nannie Neptune sought Sugar Creek township assessment, Archie Brent Coal Co. of Thorntown was set at 525 dollars, Chas T Henderson of Washington township saw a 20 dollar deduction for two sows that died, Hannah M Jones of Center township corrected and assessed at Sob, and J J Batts in Clinton township was increased by 185 dollars. The T. P. assessor was sustained regarding Neptune’s residence in Thorntown.
