Thieves raided the residence of Guy Davis at 525 North Meridian and the Stoops home at Chicago and West streets. Davis’s silverware was untouched. money was the thief’s goal at both sites, with Miss Dess Stoops briefly confronting a man under her bed. The Stoops family heard noises. no one seen, valuables not recovered. Davis was away at noon, neighbor Mrs. Acker man found the scene around six. Davis’s wife was hospitalized for an operation.
