Farmers and residents of Lebanon and Boone County are urged to back a proposed canning plant. A meeting is set for Monday January 4 at 6 pm in the Court House to secure contracts and acres for sweet corn and tomatoes. The company plans a 35 to 40 thousand dollar investment and will pay 66 cents per ton for corn delivered on the sixth of each month.
At Naco Arizona a clash between Carranzista forces and Mexican Indians escalates as General Hugh Scott meets with Governor Maytorena's representatives across the border. A border conference is planned to discuss the ongoing border situation. Hij's forces opened fire after scouts located Indians nearby, but the incident is not expected to derail Scott’s peace efforts.
Henry P. Sicks will on January 1 assume sole charge of Sicks and Hogshire realty and loan firm in the Farmers State Bank building. The pair have run the business for one year with noted success. Sicks is a prominent local realty dealer. William Trice returns to Griffin, Indiana after visiting Miss Lelia Burke in Lebanon.
James S. Schultz, arrested in the city Monday night on forgery charges, was released Tuesday after settling with Munscari-Sansone of Kokomo for checks totaling 192.62 that were protested by a Frankfort bank. A second claim by Potlitzer of Lafayette was also paid and no charges filed. The first charge was dismissed by Prosecutor Guenther.
A dinner party at 611 West Main Lebanon announced the engagement of Miss Helen Jones of Cincinnati and Baren Mitchell of Lebanon. Jones, a Cincinnati Conservatory alumna, sings and plays, while Mitchell heads the public speaking department at Michigan Agricultural College. No marriage date is set.
Chicago observers marked the eleventh anniversary of the Iroquois theatre fire with memorial services for the victims. The disaster claimed 600 lives, and annual remembrances were observed across the city.
W S Shiels of Chicago met with Mayor Shelby and the city council to discuss a sewage disposal plant. He presented plans and estimated costs of about 50000 dollars for external installation plus operating power. Shields has designed plants in more than forty cities. He also inspected the water works and found it in good condition.
Lebanon high school routed Bedford high school 29 to 6 on the armory floor Tuesday night. The locals displayed clean play and strong teamwork, avoiding rough tactics throughout the game. Also, Winnebago Tribe No 36 of the Red Men met to grant the adoption degree to seven candidates, with Fred Shaw, sachem, calling the team to the lodge hall at 7 15.

William LaFollette of Seattle Washington former Lebanon high school public speaking instructor was elected vice president at large of the Tau Kappa Alpha intercollegiate oratorical and debating fraternity during a session at the Severin hotel in Indianapolis. The city was retained as official headquarters for the next two years.
The Tri Kappa Charity ball drew about fifty couples to Charles hall on Tuesday. Grand March led by Mr. and Mrs. Coombs with Zoel Fer’s Orchestra supplying music. Clarence Ball and George Kadel of the DePauw Glee Club entertained during intermission. Out of town guests included Miss Norm Cullen of Chicago, Miss Grady Young of Chicago, Robert Given of Frankfort, Miss Lael Davis of Crawfordsville, Julian Ralston of Indianapolis, Miss Maude Harvey of Zionsville, and Miss Helen Whitesides of Franklin among others. Lunch served during intermission. The hall was decorated with pennants, emblems, and skins.
The Interstate Commerce Commission ruled today that stopping livestock cars for incomplete loading or partial unloading is not unreasonable. The decision affects shipments of livestock through all territory west of the Mississippi River and westward from Washington, Dee, La.

Dr. Charles O. Lowry of Indianapolis won a $250 verdict in circuit court Tuesday night after a trial that began at noon.
