Richard Mutchler sues Interstate Public Service for damages claiming burns in the boiler room of the heating company. The Boone circuit case was moved to Clinton county and will be heard by Judge Combs at Frankfort on February 25 after a Wednesday trial setting.
County superintendent FE. M. Servies says a teaching vacancy exists in a neighboring county. Interested teachers should see Mr. Servies for information on the position. John Ottinger and his wife of Whites Town are visiting today.
Mrs Lester Jones addressed Presbyterian Industrial Society members at Mrs Charles Leagan home on Fordice Street. She urged reform through humane treatment at the Indiana Girls School and the World Prison Congress message of hope for the unfortunate. A luncheon followed.
Tracy Wilson a 25 year old Noblesville native was sentenced to one to five years in a state reformatory and fined costs, suspended on good behavior, after pleading guilty to issuing a fraudulent check drawn on American Neelyans Bank of Notlecville. He was taken into custody and toLebanon while authorities confirm residence at his mother’s home on West Inn street.
Princeton witnesses travel to Petersburg for the trial of Carl Morton age twenty four charged with the death of Edward Duke age nineteen after a dispute over a card game at the Stevens gambling house. Morton left for a shotgun and shot Duke at the door. Insanity is expected as his defense. D W Duncan of Princeton will defend Morton.
Kemper Lindsay an eighteen year old boy admitted stealing eighteen loaves from a local bakery because he and his mother were hungry. The bakery owner and the prosecuting attorney are unlikely to press charges after confirming the hunger claim.
London reports a major British victory as German cruisers Scharnhorst Gneisenau and Leipsig were sunk by Vice Admiral Sir Frederick Sturdee off the Falkland Islands. Dresden and Nurnberg escaped. two colliers captured amid pursuit and pursuit details awaited.
Reports from London indicate Kaiser Wilhelm suffered a severe coughing spell and was relieved by court physicians and the empress after an hour at his bedside. Governor Ralston said he will convene six state governors to push the Chicago to Chattanooga Dixie highway. He suggested January 11 in Chattanooga and named Tennessee Indiana Illinois Kentucky Georgia and Florida as attendees.
State Fish and Game Commissioner George W. Miles, who has been seriously ill for several weeks at his Syracuse Indiana home, is reported improved. Friends in Indianapolis received the update yesterday, easing concern over his condition. Miss Mary Coons and Mr Payne Comstock plan to visit Indianapolis on Friday then LaFayette to stay with Mr and Mrs W H Haller.

The will of John S. Duncan was filed for probate before Judge Ross. Wallace Duncan receives one half of a $5000 life policy. Agnes Duncan gets the other half. Mrs. Duncan takes half of the personal property and life interest in half of the real estate, with the remainder to the children. Personal property valued about 50000.
Ten miners were instantly killed at the Tripp shaft of the Lackawanna Coal company in Scranton Pennsylvania when one miner accidentally dropped dynamite while lowering it into the mine. The blast wrecked the mine cage and killed all on board.
A heavily charged cable wire broke near the depot on the T. H. & I. traction line in Frankfort endangering pedestrians. Crossing guards warned pedestrians while police notified. A Lebanon dispatcher ordered a train crew that arrived shortly after to remove the wire.
The admiralty announced that the German cruiser Nurnberg, which escaped the British fleet during the naval battle Tuesday, has been captured and sunk.
Veterans of the Civil War from Winnebago Tribe No 36 branch of IOR M are to join Red Men of Lebanon lodge for a December 25 reception. A committee led by George Mayer will arrange programs and speeches by Red Men at the Cason Neal hall.
