Spokane saloonman Jimmie Durkin, once seeking the Democratic nomination for governor, says he has given up hopes of a majority vote. In Chelan County Washington State the Leavenworth Mercantile Company filed a claim against R L Willett to be heard September 12 1908 at 10 am in Leavenworth. The suit seeks 42 50 for goods sold and delivered and includes an attachment on Willetts property.
On October 3, sales by public auction at the Chelan County Court House will offer state lands described as Lots 5 and 9 in section 26 township 27 north range 17 east and Lot 4 in section 16 township 24 north range 18 east. Each parcel is appraised per acre and will be sold to the highest bidder under terms of contract with ten percent down and annual installments at six percent interest. The sale is under orders of the Board of State Land Commissioners and the county auditor has the file in Wenatchee Washington.
