Electrification planned for Great Northern line to the coast
The Great Northern reckons to electrify its Spokane to coast line, about 400 miles, with work on the Chelan river power plant to start in spring and run about thirty months at a six million dollar cost. Most labor will go to Chelan county, boosting local employment and economy, while excess power could be sold for lighting or industrial use.
