Million Dollar Power Works Nears Completion at Great Northern Plant
The Great Northern power plant two miles up the Tumwater Canyon nears completion after fourteen months of work. By January 1, 1909 the facility is expected to generate 10 500 horsepower using 4000 hp generators and 210 foot steel tower tanks. Engineers from General Electric and experts like J T Fanning and Edward Miranda supervise hydraulic and electrical assembly as 6600 volt lines are strung toward the Cascade tunnel.
