Chelan power expansion and Quincy irrigation study explored

The public service commission in Wenatchee held a hearing on Wenatchee Valley Gas and Electric’s plan to issue bonds to finance a Chelan Falls unit adding about 1000 horsepower, with a potential 2000 more ready next season. Separately, the Columbia Basin Reclamation District studies diverting Lake Wenatchee water to Quincy flat, potentially irrigating 25 000 to 30 000 acres via canal or tunnel, to be overseen by the state reclamation board if feasible.
