Chelan County will send 21 delegates to the Republican state convention in Tacoma on June 27. Delegates are based on Poindexter votes, with a minimum of two per county, and a 25 vote per precinct rule for precinct delegates. Knights of Pythias Patriotism in Grand Lodge Meeting
Geo A. Hauber returned from Tacoma after a three day Grand Lodge session of the Knights of Pythias the only fraternal order chartered by Congress in 1864 during the Civil War. The Leavenworth delegate L H Hart could not attend so Hauber served in his stead. The lodge reported $5000 in Liberty Bonds a $500 Red Cross donation and a $500 Y M C A gift. The gathering drew a large attendance and was noted as unusually interesting.

Six Trains Drafted Men En Route to Camp Lewis
