The house approved a conservation bill allowing entry on coal lands classified or likely valuable for coal while preserving subsurface rights for the United States. Prospective coal claimants may file bonds for crop or improvement damages and may occupy surface areas needed for mining with damages paid. Gasolene cars for the North Coast arrive in Spokane. the twin 55 foot steel torpedo cars, built by McKeen, run under their own power from Omaha and reach speeds around 75 to 80 mph with unique features and seating for about 75 passengers.
