The girls literary societies will play basketball in the gym Tuesday evening March 25. Hiyu Skookum Society will present a program Friday March 28 featuring Parliamentary Law. A joint program by Philomathean and Hiyu Societies is set for April 25 in the High School Auditorium, likely the year's best. The Philo matheans' program last Friday drew a large audience. a playlet Tricks was highlighted. The High School boys beat the town team 42 to 41 in a fast, closely contested game, with the school boys using speed and teamwork to overcome the town squad.
Chelan County reports 131 automobiles taxed with total assessed value of 43965 dollars. Tax levies vary by district from 22 to 46.5 mills with Wenatchee at 45 mills and one rural district at 46.5. A Wenatchee motorist paid 24.11 dollars on a vehicle valued at 530 dollars.
F B Angsten of Linton Indiana and his family establish a broom factory in Wenatchee. Machinery installed at 616 Wenatchee avenue near the bridge. Angsten operates alone producing about 20 dozen brooms weekly. plant capacity ranges from 200 to 300 dozen.

Methodist Church urges all Sunday School scholars and friends to covenant with God on Easter to live in new life with Christ. Pastor Max A. Jeffords calls for public commitment and prayer celebrating Jesus rising and ascension.

Chelan County Treasurer C E Buttles reports a new high tax collection of 87158 90 with the Great Northern Railway paying 77509 53 for main line rights of way and personal property taxes. Additional payments include 1930 38 for Chelan Electric and 103 50 for Leavenworth power plant with further sums forthcoming for up river right of way.

Several car loads of machinery for the Leavenworth Lumber Co arrived this week and were unloaded at the mill site. Sawing is planned to begin about the first of April as a large quantity of logs has already been delivered to the mill yard.
