Albert Johnson of Washington's second district is chosen by the Republican caucus to serve on the immigration committee. The article notes his long study of immigration and the Panamanian Canal era's impact on state policy. It also covers state officials meeting federal land office leaders on replacing 800000 acres of school lands lost to forest reserves, and Clerk Jeremiah Neterer’s nomination as federal judge for the Western district of Washington. Bucklen's Arnica Salve is advertised as a first aid staple.

Widow Pension Dilemma Hits Walla Walla County Budget
The late legislature created a widow pension with $15 per month for the first child under 15 and $5 monthly for each additional child. Distribution is by superior court via the county attorney, costing an estimated $1000 to $2000 monthly in Walla Walla County.
