No Seat For Guest From Old Alabama In Washington Panic

R O Westley of the State College of Washington farm crops department says Hubam the annual white clover guest from Iowa and Alabama has no reserved seat in Washington. Trials show late ripening seed unfavorably, no regional adaptation, and it cannot beat alfalfa field peas or vetch for feed or seed. Biennial sweet clover remains preferable for pasture hay and green manure, while Hubam’s high seed cost and limited usefulness hinder adoption. The department seeks opinions to resolve the crop’s viability.
