Americanization effort led by Spokane director launches in Seattle
The American Legion Americanization committee begins work in Seattle with Dr W C Hicks of Spokane appointed permanent director. Washington state becomes first to assign a permanent head. The plan targets areas with large foreign populations and will coordinate with schools. Large funds have been pledged to support the effort.
