Denatured alcohol plants loom near Portland and Spokane
Washington residents may gain months from a new alcohol for fuel law. A Pacific Alco Fuel Co plant near Portland plans 100 barrels daily output, using 350 acres of potatoes and beet crops on 400 acres owned by Dr. Cornelius, with raw material from river farmers. The project promises cheaper, safer fuel. A closing anecdote recalls a Missouri paper praising a teacher then chased by the editor with an umbrella.

Milk Preservation Claim By Professor Behring
Professor Behring of Marbourgh claims a method to keep milk indefinitely without boiling or harming nutrients. A sixth of an ounce of perhydrol is added to a gallon of milk before heating to 122 degrees, then diluted with trace sterile water. He says the treated milk remains unchanged and may be stored indefinitely, and notes daylight exposure harms milk with a suggestion of colored bottles.
