Chelan County Bond Funds Questioned In 1919 Road Plan
The Echo reviews county records from August 1919 and examines how Chelan County voters’ $830,000 road bond was spent. It highlights overstepped allocations such as $36,567.19 for the Sunnyslope Bridge and $45,000 slated for Peshastin Blewett Pass work, with funds appearing diverted from original bond purposes. The piece promises further examination of expenditures and asserts "broken faith" by the county commissioners.
