Capitol Timber Sale Ruling Aids State Land Fund
The attorney general's ruling says when timber on state capitol lands exceeds 1 000 000 feet the state land board may sell timber separately or with the land. If sold together the purchase price need not be paid in full at sale as long as timber is fully paid before removal. The aim is to ease capitol grant land disposition and reduce the Capitol Building Fund debt over $1 000 000.
