Land settlement policy to be discussed with veterans group
Olympia reports Director Dan Scott of the Department of Conservation and Development will consult a veterans committee selected by Commander J D Cunningham. The plan aims to select lands for settlement, determine fitness of applicants, and set terms including up to forty years for final payment. Only 300000 dollars is available, likely yielding under 100 farms. Plans for evaluating applicants will be debated with the veterans’ committee as Scott tours tracts in Franklin, Richland, White Bluffs, Lake Chelan, Sequim, and Spokane County.
