Ephrata Bank Raid Ended in No Loot and Capture
Four men attempted a bold bank robbery in Ephrata, Washington, blowing seven nitroglycerin charges at the vault but failing to breach it. The scene included a fierce gunfight with about one hundred shots. no one was hurt, and the quartet was later captured at Willow Lake, eight miles east of Ephrata. About $60 was recovered from the trail and a bank deposit of $80 had been taken previously. Deputy Sheriff A. A. Lytle led the pursuit, aided by local cowhands and a dog team.

Gasoline Plow Outfit Arrives for Tacoma Farmers
A new gasoline engine with three disc plows arrived for Messrs. Peer & Parker of Tacoma. The light look belies its eighteen horsepower, with two and a half foot wide bull wheels and six foot high. It will plow thirty to fifty acres daily, a compact rival to the earlier Babcock steam plow. The outfit departed Wednesday for work in the south country.
