A soldier honorably discharged after nine months or more service and who reenlisted for two years or during the war before April 1, 1864, and was discharged by reason of the war’s close or wounds, is entitled to a veteran bounty of $400. The nine monthly service need not be consecutive nor all served in the rebellion.
