World famous race driver Ab Jenkins will visit Le Mars to observe a brutal safety test by Blanc Oil Co and Firestone, using a car at 6 15 p m on Central Ave to demonstrate tubeless tires preventing loss of control after tire damage. About 300 people attended the auction sale of the 2W acre Henry Spiecker estate farm two miles northwest of Remsen. The tenant Isidore Mayrose bought the property at $314 per acre after spirited bidding. Mayrose family has lived on the place eight years. A Texaco service station is planned along Highway 73 in Pew Town with one fueling island and space for a second. Leo Nemaiers, contractor, filed plans last week. two large storage tanks are in place and the station is expected to be ready before winter. Richard Pew owns the property and will lease to an operator. Texaco petroleum products will be sold from the New Orleans company. Funeral services for Mrs Anna Heeren were held at Christ Lutheran Church Grant Township with burial in the church cemetery. she died September 19 at Sacred Heart Hospital Le Mars. She was 77 years, 10 months, and 18 days old. Survivors include three sons and two daughters, with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband, parents, one son, and siblings predeceased her.
