The Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary announces a new membership drive to support hospital services and public relations. Open to all, dues are 1.00 annually. first project is a December 5 to 7 bazaar at the hospital. Next meeting November 14 at 8 PM, open to the public.
Westmar College will hold inauguration services October 26 in Minais Iowa to install Dr Harry Ho Kalas as president. Kalas assumed duties in July and brings long experience with colleges nationwide including leadership roles with the National Council of Churches of Christ and Iowa Inter Church Council. Theodore A Distler will deliver the address. he is executive director of the Association of American Colleges and Universities and former president of Franklin and Marshall College.

Ames Iowa Charles Kennedy of Le Mars is named on the 1956 Iowa State College freshman football squad. The freshmen will play two intercollegiate games this season with Missouri University at Columbia on October 26 and Nebraska University at Ames on November 2. They practice basic formations and drill with the varsity as the opponents each week.

Christina Blecher once of S31 3d Ave South Wooi to Mars died October 23 1956 at Plymouth county home after months of illness. She was born November 23 1875 in Ponca Nebraska and lived in LeMars area over 60 years. A retired domestic worker, funeral services will be held October 26 at Mauer Punend home with burial in Melbourne Cemetery near Hinton under Mauer funeral home direction. Rev KK 1 Chiasson will officiate. Survivors include sister Mrs Katherine Spies Merrill area and several nieces and nephews. Deceased was a member of Calvary EUB church in LeMars.
The Le Mars High School vocal department with a special string group presents its annual fall vesper concert at the public school auditorium Sunday after noon at 3 00 PM Admission is free.
