Opening Trout Season Draws Brisk Local Fishing
Conservation officers report strong opening day fishing on March 1 with 46 trout per hour on average in Delaware County. In Allamakee and Clayton counties 45 fishermen were contacted. many caught 2 to 3 trout. One 18 inch brown and a 17 inch rainbow were checked. Water levels were normal and the streams were clear.
