Mrs Louise Hoorneman Dies in Sioux City Hospital

Louise Hoorneman of Sioux City died Saturday in a local hospital. Born May 11, 1886 in Henderson Minnesota, she married Gerrit J. Hoorneman in 1908 and moved to Sioux City the same year. Survived by her husband, two sons Chester and Jack, daughter Vivian Lignifoot of Phoenix, two sisters, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St Paul Episcopal Church, with burial in Logan Park Cemetery.

Le Mars Businessman Buys Storm Lake Wallen Variety Stores

Lake Store LaVerne Varenhorst, a well known Le Mars businessman, announced purchase of the Wallen Variety Stores in Storm Lake with possession set for August 1. He previously partnered in the B and G Store in Le Mars from 1946 to 1957. The Varenhorst family plans to move to Storm Lake once suitable housing is found. the family includes Mr and Mrs Varenhorst and their five children.

Room Redecoration Project By Meadow Larks Girl

Roseann Schnepf, 16, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Schnepf, completed a room redecoration project under Eva Lund in Plymouth County 4-H. The display shows a light north room with a $70.80 cost and her labor, including drapes, bedspread, refinishing a chair, rug, a 4-H uniform, plaster repairs, and pink ceiling paint. Meadow Larks leaders are Mrs Emmert Tentinger and Mrs Dick Kunkel. The group has finished 40 4-H and Agricultural Fair projects to be shown at Le Mars August 10 11 12.
