LeMars Development Club Discusses Stock Sales and Clinic
LeMars Development Corporation members met at a noon luncheon to approve continuing stock sales and hear a report by President Darrel Ketelsen on the Iowa Development Commission Clinic in Des Moines. Granville’s Mr. and Mrs. Barney Koob quietly celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at home on Saturday January 28. They wed January 28, 1896 in New Vienna Iowa, then lived on farms near Alton and Granville before moving to town. Montgomery Ward and Co will open a new catalog shopping store on Thursday February 9 in the Nuebel building on Plymouth Street N E. Infant Mark Streff Died After Long Illness at 10 Months
Mark Streff ten month old son of Mr and Mrs Clifford Streff of Alton died February 19 at Sacred Heart hospital after a long illness. He had been a patient at St Josephs hospital in Sioux City since last November and was moved home Tuesday. The body was taken to Fisch funeral home in Remsen for a wake Friday night. Funeral services will be held Saturday at St Nuys Catholic Church in Alton with burial in the chased cemetery under Fisch funeral home direction. Survivors include the parents and other relatives such as Mrs Streff formerly Ann Hansen of To Mars and several siblings and grandparents.
