Le Mars Lassies Club held a regular meeting to discuss upcoming plans and community activities. Members reviewed past events and organized roles for future gatherings at the club’s meeting place in Le Mars.
Le Mars Bulldogs defeated West Sioux 57 to 29 on their home floor marking their sixth win in eight starts. Vanderlen led LeMars with 15 points, Johnston added seven, while Renken hit a tough fade away and led scorers. West Sioux was paced by Knotton with 11 as the crowd enjoyed the halftime Sparkats drill team performing in Christmas spirit. The Bulldogs face East Sioux City next in a road game after a long layoff.

An Indiana Appellate Court held that forcing retirement at 70 is unlawful, reversing a circuit court's upholding of a dismissal of Elmer Boles, 71, police chief of Ligonier. The ruling cautions against compulsory retirement programs and notes many professionals work past 70.
