Graveside rites for Edward L. Hughes held in Le Mars

Edward Leon Hughes 67 died last Monday at Douglis county hospital Omaha. Graveside services were at 4 p m today Monday at a Le Mars cemetery with Rev Everett Ro Major officiating. Funeral home in charge. Born on a farm near Akronti June 16 1889 he lost both parents at age eight and lived with an aunt and uncle at Seneghi where he attended school. He married Lydia Bowman October 9 1913 at Le Mars. He worked as a machinist in Le Mars and Sioux City and as a truck driver in Omaha. In ill health the last ten years while employed as a gardener for the Douglas county hospital. Survivors include his widow a son Ralph in California a son Capt Mertin in the air force at Dover Del three sisters Mrs Earl Mohr Hollywood Cal Mrs William Jeffers Haxton Cold and Mrs Mahten Hauch Kingsley and five grandchildren.

Clarence Dominick Dies at 38 in Le Mars Parish

Clarence Diz Dominick of Le Mars died November 30 1956 at Sacred Heart hospital after a brief illness. He was born September 7 1918 in Le Mars and worked as a bartender at the Hub before falling ill. Survives his wife Betty and his mother Mrs John Dominick of Le Mars along with four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services held December 3 at Wilton Luedike with military honors at the city cemetery.

She was born in Ireland and later came to the United States. Mrs Guy Pote dies after long illness in Bridgewater

Mrs Guy Pote mother of Mrs Actine Zimmer of Le Murs died Sunday December 2 after a brief sickness at Bridgewater Iowa where she lived with her family who run a drug and grocery store. Survivors include sister Verda in California and three brothers Harlan in Colorado Martin in Ottumwa and Jack in Bridgewater. Mrs Zimmer had just spent a week with her mother before news of the passing reached her here.

George Wess Funeral Services Held for Remsen Resident

Funeral services for George Wess aged 75 who died in his sleep in Remsen were held at 9 30 a m at St Marys Catholic Church Remsen Reverend Meat Francis Schulte officiated. He was born September 27 1870 at Breda and married Elizabeth Ochen February 4 1914 at Breda. He moved to Remsen in 1919 and worked with the local lumber yard until 1936, then served as clerk for 16 years before retiring in 1952 due to ill health. He suffered from heart disease, with surviving relatives Marvin Wess of Remsen and Vernon Wess of Tampa, a sister Mrs Rowena Ahmann of Remsen and seven grandchildren.
