The Iowa Public Service Company files with the Iowa State Commerce Commission for a franchise to erect and maintain electric transmission facilities across public lands highways streams and private lands in Plymouth County Iowa. The petition seeks authority to construct operate and maintain a 98 900 volt three phase transmission line serving lighting power and heating throughout the area along public lands highways and private property starting at the northwest corner of section ten township ninety north range forty seven west and proceeding east along the north line of section ten.

The Happy Hi-Hops gathered Friday evening August 13 at Patty Rodenbour’s home for a ribbon show about fair exhibits. Mothers grandmothers aunts and friends heard why judges awarded blue red or white ribbons and what home furnishing 4-H projects involved. A short program featured songs piano duets accordion solos and marimba with Lila Joann Paulette Gayle Judy Janet and Janice performing. Norlene and Janice S were ill. the event ended informally with a two course lunch served by Patty and her mother.
