The Wells Blue Bunny sign head vandalism returns with Sculptured Advertising of Sparta offering a $50 reward for info leading to arrests. The head was damaged last Saturday night and found Sunday on Westmar College campus. City Buys Three New Traffic Light Controllers
City council opened bids from three bidders for three new traffic light controllers to replace worn units at three downtown corners. H B Allen Inc of Des Moines won with a bid of 103 50 for the trio. A decision on installing lights at Central Ave and Fourth St South was postponed. The city also ordered an exhaust fan for the city engineer’s office from Pob's Plumbing at 5490. Roof bids for City Hall were rejected. new bids will be sought after removing old roofing. Hail damage to the roof prompted an insurance settlement to help costs.

Cafe and service station reopen under new management
Frontier Service station on highway 75 south and its cafe are set to reopen Thursday under new management. John Beach, who ran the station years ago, will retake the lease, while Mrs. Anie Droft will run the cafe after years in food service. Donald L. Payne and Darrel Ketelsen presented detailed Westmar building plans to the city council. Projects slated for spring and summer include a men’s residence hall addition, a new girls dormitory, and housing for married students with campus maps showing locations and future facilities such as a chapel and science hall. The council approved vacating Third Avenue SE and several campus alleys and lots, with new parking to serve student housing and a planned park after removal of temporary housing.

ASCS reports 1500 farms signed up in Le Mars county for the 1963 feed grain program, 39,662 acres enrolled versus 47,622 last year. Two Detroit Men in Custody for Coin Theft
Plymouth county officials hold Alonzo Chapman and Kelly R. Brown both 29 and 30 from Detroit on larceny charges for stealing $40 from the King Kom Laundrette in Emmetsburg last Thursday night. A woman, Alice Ratliff, 26, faces related drug possession warrants. Authorities recovered $455 in dimes from a car air filter. Brown claims the coins are part of a collection. Sheriff and deputies transferred the suspects to Le Mars. they are also sought in other Northern Town burglaries in Cherokee and Dickinson counties.
