The United States Postal Service shows a net surplus in five of the last six years as mail flow grows despite wartime disruptions. Fiscal year 1939 revenues reached 745.96 million with deficits of 38.69 million before non postal adjustments, yielding a 14.55 million net surplus after deductions. Calendar 1939 receipts totaled 753.27 million, up over 25 million from 1938. First quarter of fiscal 1941 ended September 30 set a record with 178.20 million in receipts.
