Iowa River tragedy claims another Marshalltown youth
A Marshalltown boy drowned in the Iowa River near Quarry after their canoe upset during a river trip to Talaga. Rescue efforts found the body downstream below the rapids as police and locals retrieved it with a boat and grab hooks. The two young men had earlier used the swift water for a thrill and planned a second attempt.

Schoolboy Fraker Hurt In Carlton Township Horseback Fall
A Carlton Township boy named Jesse Fraker, riding home from school on horseback near Theborsa, was thrown and badly injured when bucking caused him to lose balance. He received first aid, was taken to his office, then home, and later to a Marshalltown hospital where an X ray showed a skull fracture and he had convulsions during transport.

Boy Scout News Highlights And Injuries At Camp
The regular meeting praised the mothers and Scoutmasters with thanks for activities. A Scoutmaster, injured after colliding with a tree, suffered broken teeth and knee and forehead injuries during camping. Scouts attended The Covered Wagon in Marshalltown. free tickets were won by passing tests.
