Local families travel, visit, and return from trips as community notices cover social visits, fairs, and plans.
A vivid 1926 travel letter from Hazen and Irma recounts their East End London tour, Shakespeare sights at Stratford and Warwick, visits Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and Charley Brown’s East End alehouse, with plans to sail from Liverpool to Dublin and then explore Belfast and Scotland. They describe London plays, royal sites, and a chummy, documentary tone of a youthful tour.

The program lists Bible School at 10 a.m. with Wm. E. Hoover as superintendent, worship at 11 a.m. led by the Gospel Team under John Rylander on Our Individual Duties and Responsibilities to the Church. Junior and Senior Endeavor meet later. no evening service due to Yearly Meeting in Oskaloosa.
The Christian Church schedules church school and morning worship with Hartman Coffin leading the Endeavor group. Edith Gaunt leads the Consecration Meeting, with evening service and a Wednesday prayer circle and Bible class. Rev. Harold Bentley and others attended the Central Iowa conference at Barnes City. the pastor has an infected foot this week.
County Engineer D. Elder states that a spring sowing along Primary Road No. 6 Lincoln Highway included timothy alsike Kentucky blue grass and English rye grass from a reputable seed house. State College analysis found no quack grass in the seed or grass samples and suggested any quack grass along the highway came from other sources.

L M Gaunt and daughters Edith and Mabel and son Dean were Sunday guests at the Walter Weitzell home. Born Monday Aug 30 to Mr and Mrs Lewis Brierly a seven and a half pound boy named Charles Lewis. Mary Jensen daughter of Dr and Mrs Jack Jensen Marshalltown visited Tuesday at the W M Gaunt home. Mrs T H Draper and son Junior of Marshalltown spent Wednesday at the home of her brother C B Adair and family. Rear and Mrs Guy Harvey and children of Salem came Monday for a visit among relatives here. Mr Harvey left the next day for Oskaloosa to attend Yearly Meeting leaving a part of his family here for a longer visit.
