Mrs Margaret Sharp Dies After Long Illness At 71

Park Rapids Clipper reports Mrs Margaret Sharp wife of Thomas Sharp died at her Osage home after a prolonged cancer illness. Born May 30 1840 in Ohio she lived through Civil War hardships, widowhood, and remarriage to Thos M Sharp. Funeral held at Osage Baptist Church with Rev T W Milliken. Survived by husband and two children Alva C Deester and Florence Winship. she was last survivor of her family.

Conservation Congress to tackle soil fertility in Kansas City

Henry Wallace of Des Moines says the National Conservation Congress in Kansas City September 25 26 and 27 will focus on soil fertility. He argues virgin soil is exhausted and America must raise average yields through farming science and rural development addressing stock farming dairying and soil matter while highlighting leaders from University of Illinois Missouri and Kansas.
