Dunbar People Hurt In Crossing Accident
Early Friday morning three Dunbar residents Myron and Mrs Myron Roseland and Wendell Roseland were struck at a railroad crossing east of Dunbar by an eastbound train. Myron and Mrs Roseland suffered serious injuries including leg fractures and amputation of a foot, Wendell less injured. they were rushed to Marshalltown for treatment as hospital status remained serious but improving Wednesday morning. The couple, married last February, are highly regarded in the Dunbar area. A note added reports the birth of Clayton David Kennedy, a 9-pound baby boy to Prof and Mrs Joseph Kennedy on Monday morning, Oct 30.

New Restaurant to Open in LeGrand After Remodeling
Mrs Idella Asks of Garden City plans to open a new restaurant in LeGrand after remodeling. She will move her equipment and household goods with her 15 year old daughter Evelyn and father Peter Ids joining from Paulina. The party has roots in Marshall County and the structure is nearing occupancy. Evelyn will join the local high school and the Friends Church notes a September 11 program and church activities.

County Agent Harald Peterson aided with the Farm Bureau stereopticon as they viewed images of famous homes and quarries. A vote of appreciation was given to Sherlock and Peterson. the visit included Mrs Sherlock and hosts John Rylander Albert Beane Burnice Beane and a limestone quarry tour. The next meeting will be at Prof and Mrs G W Kibbie home.

Funeral for Rev Gordon Mortimer Held in Bloomington
Rev and Mrs Taylor Guthrie and J F Rylander attended the funeral of Rev Gordon Mortimer in Bloomington Sunday afternoon. The deceased was a cousin of Mrs Guthrie and had served as pastor of the Friends church at Liberty for two years.
