Wedding Day Fittingly Celebrated 53rd Anniversary
The 53rd wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Dunham was observed at the home of their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dillman near Montour on Sunday. Six of their eight children attended along with extended family and friends in a fall floral setting and a two tier cake with a miniature horseshoe and bell.

Mesquakie Residents Attend National Corn Husking Contest
About 20 Mesquakie men women and children traveled from the Mesquaki Indian Reservation to Davenport for the National Corn Husking Contest held October 27 to 30. They were invited guests performing dances with two tepees and a wickiup while Jesup Lasley, a Pow Wow dance champion, headline acts. Both genders represented the tribe in the event marking their first invitation to the national contest.

Halloween Masquerade at Friends Church Social
The Friendly Circle Sunday school class held a Halloween masquerade party last Friday at the Rev. Wines home. Guests were welcomed by a dim basement entrance with eerie sights and sounds. Prizes went to Harry Kaisand and Mr and Mrs Turbett for best disguises. Decorations featured black and orange colors and autumn leaves. After thrills and laughs, refreshments were served.
