Soderquist and family moved to LeGrand into Oliver Rosedale’s cottage. the newcomer is the county auditor’s son. M. T. Literary and Musical Club Meeting Notes

The Literary and Musical club met with 17 members and one guest. Mrs. Baumgardner spoke on Child Welfare for adolescents after a short business session and roll call of humorous sayings from children. A buffet lunch was served by the hostess and Mrs Johnson. The next meeting will be with Mrs. L E Johnson.

Local visits and orchard spray timing noted

Mr and Mrs S R Piper of Marshalltown called at the J W Piper home on Monday. Mrs W M Gaunt and her son Jack visited their daughter Mrs Elgin Powers in Marshalltown. Oscar Johnson checked records to confirm last year’s orchard spray date and noted May 5 as the final spray. as of May 1 this year the first spray had not yet been applied. The region saw snow on the ground, though not as heavy as before.
