Soderquist and family moved to LeGrand into Oliver Rosedale’s cottage. the newcomer is the county auditor’s son. M. T. Tostenson Edna Iverson and Marjorie Halverson arrived from California April 22 and visit the community. Halverson is Tostenson’s niece from Laurel.
Contractor B L Babe Anderson of Cedar Rapids arrives with a crew and machinery on Wednesday to set up a portable crusher on the Harry Gibson farm. A line of trucks gathers before Della's restaurant as Bill Porter leads the team to operate the equipment.
Expression of gratitude for acts of kindness sympathy flowers music and other unnamed deeds. Raymond Ralph Lewis Beane and Families thank well wishers and helpers for support.
Several women from LeGrand attended the Farm Bureau Women's Achievement Day at Marshalltown on Tuesday. Myrna Johnson, county 4-H president, read The Country Girl's Creed by Jessie Field Shambaugh and acted as flag bearer.
The William Penn Gospel Team will lead the 110 oclock worship service Sunday with the offering benefiting the group. If weather allows, the postponed Christian Endeavor Vesper service will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 and the evening service at 8:00.

W. B. Stewart of Marshall County, current county board chairman, announced his candidacy for supervisor on the Republican ticket for the term beginning January 1, 1941. He seeks re election.
Supervisor Stewart was born in Marshall county and has lived there since birth. A lifelong farmer, he resides on a farm north of Marshalltown near the birthplace farm. He enters his first elective county office after 20 years as Taylor township trustee and a former assessor. He has long been active in political, community and civic affairs across township, county and city levels.
D. W. McLean, a prominent Marshall county farmer, last week announced his candidacy for state representative from Marshall county on the Republican ticket. He is the second candidate to file for the lower house at the June primary, opposing W. Eldon Walter of Vienna township, who announced earlier.
Life long Republican farmer in Washington township with deep county ties. Former Iowa legislator from Marshall County. served on major committees and 12 years on county farm bureau board, four as president. Also on Central Iowa Fair board 12 years, six as president, and helped found Marshall County Taxpayers Association. Age 59, Mason, Congregationalist, family man, past master of a Masonic lodge, current patron of State Center OES.
The Literary and Musical club met with 17 members and one guest. Mrs. Baumgardner spoke on Child Welfare for adolescents after a short business session and roll call of humorous sayings from children. A buffet lunch was served by the hostess and Mrs Johnson. The next meeting will be with Mrs. L E Johnson.
Mr and Mrs S R Piper of Marshalltown called at the J W Piper home on Monday. Mrs W M Gaunt and her son Jack visited their daughter Mrs Elgin Powers in Marshalltown. Oscar Johnson checked records to confirm last year’s orchard spray date and noted May 5 as the final spray. as of May 1 this year the first spray had not yet been applied. The region saw snow on the ground, though not as heavy as before.
