Quarry Worker Elmer Halverson Injured In Quarry Blast

Elmer Halverson of Quarry, an employee of LeGrand Limestone Company, suffered a severe skull fracture after a rock struck him during a night shift blast at the north quarry. He was taken to St Thomas hospital in Marshalltown, where X rays showed a four inch skull fracture above the ear. He was reported as getting along and recovery predicted.

Republican Caucus for LeGrand Township Nominees

A Republican caucus for Precinct No. 1 LeGrand township will nominate township officers and delegates to the county convention. It will be held at the town hall LeGrand at 8 p m on Monday May 5 with B H Beane as Committeeman and Rosa Richards as Committeewoman.

Literary and Musical club to meet in Toledo

The Literary and Musical club will meet Wednesday May 4 at Mrs R L Pemberton's home in Toledo. It is an all day final meeting of the club year with a covered dish requested from each member. Accident on Highway Injures Quarry Man and Driver Unknown

Will Dougherty of Quarry was hurt when a Ford struck his wagon near Harvey Walken while he returned from Ash home with corn. He fainted and was taken home after a doctor said two bones were broken, with outcome pending. An unknown driver fled the scene.
