Alfred Omundson, a Navy electrician and veteran of eight round trips to France, returned to LeGrand this week. He served on the Susquehanna and witnessed the sinking of the President Lincoln. Discharged April 26 at Portsmouth Va after hospital treatment for illness, he had earlier trained at Helena Camp and aboard the Wyoming and Missouri. He shared wartime experiences and family greetings, with local notes on neighbors and community events.
