Miss Leona Specht spent several days last week in Marshalltown. Mrs. Dudley Perry visits Dunkerton relatives. Mrs. Frank Stevens was a business caller in Marshalltown. Numerous neighbors and relatives, including the Lasson, Reisinger, Buchanan, Hilsabeck, Higginbotham, and Specht families, host and visit across towns. Everett Trossem reports a snow notable for congealed water outside his barn.

LeGrand high school schedules commencement week for fifteen seniors with baccalaureate at Friends church led by Rev. William Gray, senior skip day options, sponsor reception, and May 8 commencement in the school auditorium with Rev. C. C. Bacon delivering the message. The eighth grade and junior senior events, including a ship motif banquet and alumni reunion, follow with various speakers and performances.

Republican Caucus Held in State Center with Local Delegates

County chairman Fred 8 Gilbert led a Republican caucus at the Reporter office last Friday evening with fair attendance. D. D. Latham presided as precinct committeeman and John Rylander served as secretary. Elected trustees include L. 14. Johnson and Fred Naese, with constables L. E. Bigelow and John Peck, and Justice I.M. Gaunt. Five delegates to the county convention were chosen: G. C. Ogier, D. D. Latham, Mrs. W. M. Gaunt, G. W. Keen, and B. H. Beane.

May W C T U Meeting Postponed Social Day Delayed

The May meeting of the W C T U will be held at Mrs. Lisa Omundson's home Tuesday at 2 pm with the citizenship committee in charge. The May social afternoon has been postponed to a later date. George Case and family visited Newton Sunday to spend the day with relatives.

William Galloway Delivers Talk at Townsend Club Meeting

William Galloway spoke at the Townsend club gathering with President Earl Simms introducing him. The Waterloo booster attracted a large audience from surrounding towns, especially the county seat, who listened intently to his clear explanation of what the Townsend resubt stands for.

Surprise Party Honors Mrs George Rubenbauer at Horn Home

Guests included Mr and Mrs Cal Dougherty Mr and Mrs Herman Wolken Mr and Mrs Ben Baumgardner and Mr and Mrs C B Adair at a Tuesday night surprise party for Mrs George Rubenbauer. Rook at six tables produced prizes for Mrs Alvin Nuese Mrs C B Adair H Wolken and Ben Baumgardner. Refreshments served by the hostess and Mesdames Donald Hoover Omer Tostenson Earl Jacobson and Martin Rubenbauer. Gifts were presented to Mrs George Rubenbauer.

The City without a Church and its Kingdom Sermon

Morning service on the first and third Sundays led by Minister Sarah M. Piper at 10 a.m. Church School notes Sept 11 with “The Transforming Power.” No evening service. Missionary Circle met with Mrs. Rosa Beechent on April 24 led by Miss Della Richards. Elwood E. E. Robinson Seeks Second Term As County Supervisor

E E Robinson known as Elwood visits town Monday to campaign for re election in 1936. He hails from the county southwest and has served twenty five years on his farm and over fifty years in the county. He emphasizes conservative spending of road funds and fair service to taxpayers and taxpayers users. He asks for voter support at the forthcoming primary.

Death of Letta Wall in Tama County

Letta Wall 83 died suddenly at home in Carlton township Monday morning following a heart attack Friday. She was born January 19 1853 in Appanoose County and lived in Tama County for 50 years. Survived by six daughters one son 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren four brothers and two sisters. Funeral held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carlton Brethren Church with Rev. William Gray officiating burial in Carlton Cemetery.
