From Our Special Correspondent Miss Trene Wells of Highland was a guest Saturday of Miss Elois Alden. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Sharp of Green Mountain were Sunday callers at the Delmar Latham home. Farmers plant corn this week after little was planted last week. Mrs. C. W. Belloge reports sweet corn up. Delmar Latham and baby json were at Deaconess hospital for hernia operation earlier this week. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Outland entertained for dinner Sunday guests including Albert and Bernice Beane and son Elmo, C. H. Beane and family, and relatives. The Priscilla Circle met with Mrs. J. N. Tice at Montour on April 22. Due to the hostess’s illness, each attendee brought a covered dish. Lunch was served cafeteria style.

James Wilson II suffered a leg fracture during an improvised Green Mountain vs Ferguson ball game. He was catcher in a hastily assembled team when a runner slid into home plate, breaking a bone between knee and ankle. Wilson, farming two large areas, now faces an extended layoff around July 4.
