The Royal Neighbors held an all day quilting event at their hall last Thursday followed by a noon covered dish dinner with Nash coffee demonstrator Mrs Mossness as guest. At Tuesday’s regular meeting they honored Ellen Holland for her silver wedding anniversary with a special program including a duet by Susie Gaunt and Ardella Richards, a speech by Rosa Richards, a poem, words from the Oracle Margaret Mahle, and a silver sandwich tray gift engraved R N A from the Camp. Ruth Norton and Anna Duncan hosted refreshments.
The Missionary society of the Christian church met Friday at Mrs. Rosa Beechout’s home. Rev. Sarah Piper led prayer and two patriotic songs. A portion of the business supported the iron lung fund for Marshall county. The program covered India themes and stories of Gandhi and Nehru. Next meeting March 28 hosted by Mrs. Walter Weitzell.
