LeGrand high school juniors staged the drama His Best Investment in the school auditorium over two nights last week. Zelda Axtell coached the production which drew high praise for its finish and uplifting theme. Lora Keen, a seventh grader, starred as the barefoot circ us waif with electric presence.

Mastodon Tooth Shown At School House Exhibit
Clifford Hanlin displayed a mastodon tooth found in the Inna river bed during last summer's low waters. The fossil is well preserved though starting to crumble, with a protective shellac coat. Its immense size prompts wonder at the creature's overall size and jaw proportions.

LeGrand Chosen for District Declamatory Contest
Supt N E Jones announced that LeGrand will host a northeast Town district sub event with local arrangements to be made. Competing schools include Albion Clemons Conrad Eldora Training School LeGrand McCallsburg Marshalltown Mt. Vernon. The program will be held Wednesday March 11 and hopes are high for local contestants who have dominated Ferguson contest.

P T A Program Hosts Ames Speaker Holbrook
The P T A meeting set for Tuesday night March 10 at 7 30 in the high school gym will feature Royal H Holbrook of the Ames extension department and a Iowa Historical Society member. Music by the school orchestra will accompany the event. Families are asked to bring a dozen bread and butter sandwiches and a personal eating kit.
