Le Grand High Wins County Tournament Victory and History
Le Grand High School clinched its county tournament title with a 30 22 win over Lamoille and a 28 15 victory against Liscomb on Friday, then edged Green Mountain 23 23 and Gilman 16 18 on Saturday. Manship Hibbs earned all star honors, with Dean Grant on the second team. The win marks Le Grand’s second county title, adding to past finals appearances in Tama and Baxter.

Clifford J Tarvestad of LeGrand Iowa named associate leader of a Bible student group meeting weekly in Chicago missions. The Friends church observed its Annual Church Day on Feb 24 with a large turnout and a lunch. Officers were elected for the Friends cemetery association. The W T U Young People met Feb 22 at Miss Virginia Dunham’s home with a March business session and a program. The Literary and Musical Club met at Mrs E M Mills home with readings, a Caruso biography, a piano solo, and a Radloff paper. The next club meeting will be March 16 at Mrs C D Harvey’s home.

P T A March Meeting At School House Next Tuesday 7 30
The March meeting of the P T A will be held at the school house next Tuesday evening at 7 30. The 5th to 8th grades will hold a local spelling contest to select a winner for the county contest. March 26 features recitations and music by pupils, with a notice inviting all. families asked to bring one dozen meat sandwiches and their own dishes. Death of Warren Shrock in Colorado trip
Warren Shrock longtime Minneapolis lumberman and former furniture maker died on a train in Colorado while traveling with his wife en route to California. He had left Minneapolis in 1920 to start business in Cleveland and will be buried in Warsaw Indiana as reported by the Minneapolis Journal.
