The LeGrand community mourns as Mrs. Tarama W. Piper wife of Rev. J W Piper dies at 10 30 PM after appendicitis complications. Born Aug 31 1846 in Knox county Ohio she lived on the Piper homestead near LeGrand with six children and many siblings. Funeral at the Christian church conducted by Rev A B Kendall with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery attended by relatives from nearby towns.

Beautiful Home Wedding Celebrates Miss Mabel Smith and Professor J Clifford Roberts
A Whittier California account details the marriage at Dr and Mrs L M Green North Painter Avenue last night. Miss Mabel Smith wed Professor J Clifford Roberts before over a hundred guests with Rev John Cook performing the ring ceremony. Bridesmaids wore white with pink accents and pink sweet peas in hair. Gilbert Roberts served as best man. The bride, a Whittier College graduate and accomplished musician, has lived with her parents for four years. The groom, a Penn College graduate and local high school instructor, studied at Ann Arbor and Berkeley. Both belong to Quaker families.
