Tribute to the memory of Dr Frank G Coffin
Dr Frank G Coffin, son of George H and Joanna Coffin, born June 14 1874 near Montour Iowa, married Lula May Klump, had daughters Ruth and Marie, and three grandchildren. A minister for over fifty years he led multiple Christian churches, served as Palmer college president 1919 1927, and died June 9 1941 in Iowa City.

Academy Class Reunion Brings Former LeGrand Residents Together
Three graduates from the Academy Class of 1891 met in LeGrand for a reunion. The group included Alvah Negus as principal and 13 graduates—eight boys, five girls. Notable members Albert S. Marshall, Riley J. Hadley, and Albert L. Beane hosted reminiscences and updates on careers in politics, stock farming, and teaching.

Miss Nellie May Vreeland and Rev. Charles L. Hammond married at the Vreeland home in Montour Iowa on July 2 1891 Rev Henry Avery conducted the ceremony with Viola Ward as bridesmaid and Henry Edwin McGrew as groomsman The couple are long time Tama Marshall county pioneers and celebrated a Golden Wedding with most family able to attend. A noon feast followed and many cards of congratulations arrived from Iowa and Nebraska. The Hammonds have served in multiple churches across Iowa and Nebraska before settling back near their childhood homes.

Missionary Circle Holds Friday Meeting At Mrs Antle Home
The Christian Missionary Society met Friday at Mrs. Howard Antle’s home. After songs and prayer, 21 members and visitors answered roll call. Rosa Richards read Matthew 19, and Grace Ray led a lesson about Mont Lawn. Members voted funds to support a child there after hearing Joe and Olaf. Refreshments followed. The next meeting is set for July 25 at Mrs. Anna Duncan’s home.
